Arena Fastpack 2.2 Swimming Backpack review 2019-10-11T14:26:58+00:00

Arena Fastpack 2.2 review of the backpack for swimming with the smartest storage management

Designed for swim lovers. Plenty of space, Practical and versatile, very well built with strong material and reliable zips.

It provides a very smart space management that allow you to pack and unpack gears easily and quickly. The back compartment is very large and offers sufficient storage space, even for large training tools, towels and bathrobe ( I usually store the Powerbreather case).

The front compartment has 2 section levels with solid bottom, ideal to store many smaller equipment: I place mask, MP3, anti-fog liquid, aquatic gloves, latex swim socks, neoprene socks and hand paddle.

Key Features:

  • Dimensions: 55cm x 40cm x 30cm
  • Capacity: 40 liter (1 size)
  • Material: 100% polyester / synthetic fiber (mesh pockets)
  • Colors available: Black, blue, grey, green, pink and others
  • Carbine hook for hanging it up
  • 4 external zip pockets (Top, front, back, bottom)
  • 2 internal mesh pockets (back compartment)
  • 1 internal zip pocket (front compartment)
  • 2 side mesh pockets
  • Complementary free swim bag (Arena)

The small zippered pocket at the top is ideal to store phone, watch and other delicate small devices because the internal material is very soft and will help to avoid scratches.

There is one mesh pocket on both side: one can fit a water bottle, even taller (the elastic band at the top helps keep it in place) while the other pocket can be used to place, for example a wet jammers, so that it can dry faster and breath (for instance, this is what I use it for). There are also four hooks to hang other equipment (i.e. snorkel, etc). The back panel and shoulder straps provide excellent comfort, even when the backpack is fully loaded.

The reinforced bottom protects stored contents from wet floors. It is also very comfortable to cycle while wearing it. The bottom compartment is very large and it’s ideal for wet clothes (I store fins and slides).

This backpack can be hung up with the carbine hook  and can be used as a wardrobe. Absolutely the ideal backpack to carry many swimming gears and keep everything very well organized, so you can start your swimming session within minutes.

My Conclusion: Having so many swimming gears and cycling to the pool, I preferred to search for a comfortable and spacious backpack. I am extremely pleased with this Arena Fastpack backpack. I don’t think I could have asked for a better one.

The best thing is the space management. Once I get to the gym, I leave my clothes on the drawer, wear the Speedo slides and jammers, and go straight to the pool area with my backpack. I hang it on the wall using the carbine hook and I start taking out all my gears (powerbreather, watch, MP3 player, mask & anti-fog liquid, fins, paddles and cap) and once I prepared all of them. Within a couple of minutes I’m ready to jump in the pool. The whole concept works just fine, basically it works as a wardrobe.

Luckily my gym provides towels, so I don’t have to carry them on the back compartment. But, I brought the Arena Fastpack 2.2 on my beach holiday and I was carrying everyday the beach changing towel robe and fitted perfectly fine (to change from beach shorts to jammers and swim in the sea).

Finally, I chose to buy the Arena Fastpack 2.2 instead of similar backpacks for swimming (such as Speedo or TYR), primarily because of the spacious and zippered bottom compartment, which is a tremendous plus that others don’t feature. For me it is extremely useful to place fins and slides.
